I absolutely loved the layout, design, structure and composition of these Reflective Diaries. Your writing style is highly competent and professional. Your content demonstrated a very comprehensive understanding of the lecture content and tutorial discussions. I loved the inclusion of a wide range of artefacts that sought to demonstrate and articulate the points you were making in your entries. I learnt quite a bit from reading your wiki! Super well done.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"82410899","dateCreated":"1509210909","smartDate":"Oct 28, 2017","userCreated":{"username":"n9190520","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/n9190520","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/pubwomenshealthdiaryreflections2017.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/82410899"},"dateDigested":1532252529,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Week 3","description":"Excellent use of Orange is the New Black as an example of women in pop culture and the media. It's incredibly refreshing seeing a TV show that revolves entirely around the lives and experiences of women from all communities, ethnicities, countries, upbringings etc. The inclusion of many different ethinic groups, religions, body shapes, and inclusion of trans women normalises the extreme and beautiful range of women, leading to more tolerance and awareness and therefore better health outcomes. Another TV show that does this but to a lesser extent due to context is the TV show Orphan Black, where the clones include lesbian women, mothers, a trans clone etc, showcasing how people who are so similar can also be so different and that it is ok!

\nParticularly interesting is the (spoilers) multiplicative disadvantages that the character Poussey Washington faces that ultimately lead her to an unfair life and treatment. As viewers we see that because of her being a black, lesbian woman, she experiences much worse outcomes than the straight white male that ultimately caused her death. Where the female character essentially dies due to a minor drug offense (but arguably faces this because of increased discrimination), the male character that kills her is immediately forgiven and protected by the system they live in. This reflects what we see in real life, where the health outcomes of women, especially minorities and LGBT people, are worse that they should be simply based on stuff they can't change.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
